Bats
The Grey-headed Flying-foxes in Botanic Park are a vulnerable species and protected by law. Hot weather may cause stress to the Flying-foxes, so to help keep these animals cool in very hot weather there are sprinklers in the trees.
If you see a flying-fox on the ground or in distress during this hot weekend, do not approach it. We have staff who are properly trained and equipped to manage them. Please tell a WOMADelaide staff member who will assist. Thank you for your cooperation.
