For folktronic band Amaru Tribe, music is a playground where they explore the intersection between cultures through traditional Latin American music and contemporary electronic sounds. Vibrating charangos, urban flow, electronic beats and Afro-Latin rhythms with powerful vocal harmonies create a portal that gives birth to a genre they call ‘Cumbia Oceanica’. Nominated for the Music Victoria Awards as Best Multicultural Act in 2019, 2020 and 2021 they have captivated audiences at Bluesfest and Queenscliff Music Festival and toured to SXSW in the USA, Colombia, Thailand and Taiwan. Based in Naarm/Melbourne, Amaru Tribe includes artists with backgrounds from Australia, Colombia and Chile.
