Grammy Award-winning ‘Queen of Afrobeats’ Yemi Alade is renowned worldwide for her spectacular live performances and music videos. From Afropop to dancehall, Amapiano, rumba, Afrobeat, reggae and R’n’B, her music is a mix designed to appeal to all music lovers, regardless of their geographical origin. In 2024, she released her tenth studio project, the album Rebel Queen, on which she collaborates with the likes of Angélique Kidjo, Ziggy Marley, Konshens, Femi One and Innoss’B. She also collaborated with Beyoncé on the soundtrack for The Lion King: The Gift in 2019. The accomplished Alade is a composer, singer, fashion designer, feminist and activist and a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme. A star at home and abroad, she sings in five languages — Yoruba, English, Igbo, French and Swahili — reflecting her cross-cultural approach to music. Alade was a university student in 2009 when she won Nigeria’s Peak Talent Show, which led to her signing with a record label.
